Products may be withdrawn from the market as a consequence of stricter legislation aimed at the protection of consumers and of the environment.
Decisions causing restrictions to the marketing of products are of EU competence as the lack of harmonisation of member states' national legislations may constitute a technical barrier to intra-EU trade and impede the freedom of movement for goods in intra-Community trade.
This text is for information only and is not designed to interpret or replace any reference documents.
Will the policy option entail the withdrawal of certain products from the market? Is the marketing of products limited or prohibited?
